Dr. Visanu Thamlikitkul is a well-respected academic professional, medical doctor and policymaker. He harbors over 30 years of work experience in the public health field. After gaining his medical degree in 1976, he continued on to a teaching career as an instructor, assistant and associate professor and eventually became the Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University.
His expertise in research has lead him to publish and co-publish over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, internationally and in Thailand. Presently, Dr. Thamlikitkul is the Chairman of the Sub-committee on Development and Selection of Essential Mediciens in Thailand. Apart from his chairmanship role, he is also the Manager of the Antimicrobial Resistance Containment and Prevention Project as well as a professor.
