PROJECT

Indonesia was selected as a pilot country for the international Decision Support Initiative (iDSI) demonstration project. The pilot project is to focus on building HTA capacity in Indonesia as well as for the Access and Delivery Project (ADP) of PATH International. In this effort the local team from Indonesia’s Health Technology Assessment Committee (HTAC) were to carry out the following evaluations:

• Economic evaluation of Sildenafil for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
• Economic evaluation of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) versus hemodialysis (HD) for terminal stage renal disease.

These studies are expected to help inform the development of HTA and Indonesia’s HTA National Implementation Plan for the next 5-10 Years. The National Implementation plan is to become a roadmap that emphasizes the following areas of work: curative health, public health needs, facilitating access of health technology to both public and curative health, and optimizing the use of safe, rational health technologies.
